TENNIS PROGRAMS

Tennis Match

NEW FOR 2025!

New programs have been added in 2025 including Level Booster, Patio & Play, Family Friendly, Cardio Tennis, Shot of the Week, Ladder Meet Up, and NCTA House League. Some programs are fee-based but many are free to members.

LEVEL BOOSTER

This is an enhancement to the Monday evening clinics and is a fee-based program offered twice during the season.  There are four sessions in each set. The fee is $80 per set. The concept is that players of the same ability level come together with a tennis professional to boost their level a notch higher. Each Saturday there will be two groups: 9.00am for players aiming to reach a 3.0 level and at 10.00am for players aiming to reach a 3.5 level. Players would first attend a Monday evening clinic and be rated by the professional who would then assign them to a booster group. There is a maximum of 8 players per session.  The first session starts May 24th and runs to June 21st.  The second session starts July 26th and ends August 23rd.

CARDIO TENNIS

This is a fee-based program running on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm. There are two levels, early intermediate and seasoned intermediate. The program delivers a serious work-out while working on tennis shots in a fast-paced scenario. The early intermediate runs at 6.30pm for an hour with the seasoned intermediates at 7.30pm in June, July, and August (i.e., the program is offered three times in sets of four sessions. The fee is $80. Maximum 8 people per session.

NCTA HOUSE LEAGUE

This is a paid program for school kids wanting to play in a team format. It is open to members and non-members. Local schools will be canvassed to attract players. Those who register for the season (July and August) will be organized into teams (following try-outs) and the teams will play each other. This is part of a program being organized by the NCTA. At the end of the season, a team will be selected to represent South Ottawa in an NCTA event. The cost is $95 for the 8 weeks. Maximum 24 kids.

PATIO & PLAY

This is a free drop-in program on Tuesday and Thursday every season. Players arrive at 11.30 and organize themselves into round robin play (courts 5&6 away from the kid’s camp). Play is until 1.00pm when the group retires to the patio for lunch (after the kids have finished lunch and returned to the courts). Players bring their lunches and share them with each other.

FAMILY FRIENDLY

This is a fee-based program running for four weeks on Wednesdays from 5.00pm – 6.30pm in June, July, and August (i.e., the program is offered three times in sets of four sessions). The fee is $240 per 4-week set for a parent and child combination. The 5.00-5.20 period is warm-up and practice involving the child and parent working together under the supervision of a tennis professional. At 5.20, the groups split, and the parents work with one Pro while the children work with another. At 6.20, the parents join the children to observe what they have been working on. There is a maximum of 12 (6 parents and 6 children) per session. The first session starts June 18th and runs to July 9th.  The second session starts July 16th and ends August 6th.  The final session starts August 13th and ends September 3rd.

SHOT OF THE WEEK

This is a fee-based program run each Saturday at 11:00. The shot being worked on is advertised in advance and players register for the individual session they are interested in, paying the $20 fee in advance at registration. Maximum 10 people per session.

LADDER MEET UP

This is a free, drop-in session for players who participate in our ladders. It runs each Sunday at 2.00pm. This is a meet and greet opportunity for players to mix with other ladder players and arrange matches.
